Qualifications

The foundations that shape my work.

Professional Deep Dive

My career kicked off with cross cultural training as a Fulbright Research Scholar in Malaysia. Following that, I was a Special Projects Coordinator at a NASA subcontractor, where I was responsible for bids and financials controlling. From there, I pivoted to venture development at a regional pre-seed fund, where I supported early stage startups for 6 years,  across multiple business functions. A natural progression was joining a portfolio company as Director of HR (2015). I have held leadership roles in HR since that time, at seed to Series D companies, with the past 7 years exclusively at German startups.

"It is not easy to successfully balance the business needs of your company and the human needs of your employees, and as someone trying to lead a company with integrity, I've learned a lot of useful wisdom from Sonita on those topics. She is a giver: absolutely full of ideas, people I should meet, book recommendations & more. Every time I talk to her I leave full of inspiration and a list of 10 things I need to read, look up or do next and I love it."
